School year begins September 3, 2024 and ends June 30, 2025.
Summer Schedule goes in effect July 1, 2025 thru August 29, 2025.
During the regular school year, tuition is to be paid monthly, and it is due by no later than the 7th of each month.
My preferred method of payment is cash. Alternate methods if necessary, include:
check, Zelle, PayPal and Venmo.
Please add a $25 late fee per student if submitting the tuition payment on, or after the 15th of the month.
Payment reminders are sent on the first of each month.
Your monthly tuition payment covers lessons for the entire month. You will always be provided a make up class, should we need to cancel on my behalf. If you do not attend the scheduled makeup lesson, the lesson will be forfeited. With exception of the summer schedule, no months can be prorated under any condition.
During the months of July and August, you only pay for the lessons that you take.
You will receive a free 45 minute lesson for any new student referral. It will get applied after I receive a full month tuition from the new student. Feel free to refer me to anybody that is looking for, or interested in lessons.
I give a $25 discount off the full monthly tuition for a second family member in the same household for 45 and 60 minute lessons.
Please allow a window of at least 15 minutes before or after your allotted scheduled time in case of unforeseen occurrences such as traffic, weather conditions etc. I will notify you if I’m running late, and will conduct a full lesson upon arrival. If the student is not home for the allotted class upon my arrival, no make up will be given under any condition. If this occurs frequently, the time spot may be given out to another student.
In order to qualify for a makeup lesson, you need to give at least 24 hour notice. Without this notice of cancellation, makeup lessons will not be provided. You will still be required to pay for that lesson. This is necessary because you have reserved a weekly studio time. Proper attendance is your responsibility. Please keep in mind that make up lessons cannot be rescheduled.
Same day cancellations are considered as late calls. I will allow makeups for 2 late calls during the school year. I do understand that sometimes things happen at the last minute. All make up lessons have to be made up during the school year.
Lessons can be done in person or remotely.
When inclement weather is predicted, or other unforeseen circumstances that may occur, all lessons will be done online.
($5 credit tuition will get adjusted with the next month’s payment)
I always encourage my students to take part in auditions, evaluations, exams, competitions etc. I will make recommendations to you, and you are welcome to come to me with any suggestions and opportunities. You will also have an opportunity to take part of our annual recital in the spring. I will be assigning both written and practice homework each week. Students are expected to practice the length of their lesson each day, or more if necessary.
6 Practicing steps:
Clap and count
Finger and count.
Finger and Articulate (sing)
Finger, articulate and count (foot)
Play! (use 5 penny game, playing more correct repetitions.)
Set 5 pennies on the left side of the music stand. Each time they play the passage correctly, they move one penny to the right side of the stand. Every time they play it wrong, all the pennies have to go back to the left side. The goal is to get 5 pennies (or M&Ms or Skittles) to the right side of the stand.
*If your assigned music has not been learned after a 2 week period, you will be required to record yourself playing it every single day, and sending me a copy every night until it's done.
Please remember to fill out your practice log every day after you have completed your daily practice.
You will receive 1 sticker for practicing at least 4 times per week.
You will receive 2 stickers for practicing at least 6 times per week.
Your weekly lesson can count as one day of practice.
Do not let the discipline of music get in the way of the joy of music making. Yes, it is hard. Yes, it can be frustrating. But the joy students experience when they really get into a particular piece of music is something that can rarely be duplicated. Like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it.
My goal as a private instructor is to help my students be the best they can be. I will help you have FUN with playing your instrument, and inspire you to make heart felt music. The quest for excellence is a lifelong process, but keep in mind that it is attainable for ANYONE! That is up to us to achieve, because if you think you can, or if you think you can’t you are absolutely right!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Looking forward to a great school year!
After you have carefully read and understood the above policy, should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me I’m more than happy to discuss your questions with you. 😊
